Belize Travel Writing
Hi I’m Dabria Sims; A bilingual (English/ Spanish) ,18 year-old afro indigenous raised in the continental U.S. When i was graced with the opportunity to go to Belize I was over the moon as most of the population fits me phenotypically as a person; but in reality their way of life was so differently from what I’ve observed in both the black and indigenous communities I’ve met throughout the continental U.S. Over the Course of my Time and Enjoyment in the country of Belize i not only learned by experienced many things that I wouldn’t have access to just here in the US. These experiences have not only made me a more ethical traveler overall but also shown be the Beauty of foreign countries. In the following paragraphs and pictures i will be outlining the three major characteristics that pointed out to me as a public health and Spanish major; The celebratory coexistence of many cultures and observance, Reverence of Nature and its place, and The sense of community and Cultural Pride between Belizeans.
